Always do the right thing and help those in need. These are lessons that were instilled in Michael from a very young age, and have shaped the way he practices law. Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, and raised in Deer Park, Texas, Michael was taught by his family to do the right thing and to stand for justice, even when it is not the easiest or most popular decision to make. As an attorney licensed in both Texas and Tennessee, he has many opportunities to apply those values.
He graduated from Houston Baptist University in 2009 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology and Business. After teaching in Pearland, Texas for three years, he would later follow his passion to help others by attending South Texas College of Law Houston and receiving his Juris Doctor in May of 2015. While at South Texas College of Law Houston, he participated in mock trial, the Langdell Scholars program, and served as the President of the Republican Law Students Association. In 2014, he was an Abraham Watkins Mock Trial Champion and received the Best Advocate Award.
At James Trial Law, Michael focuses mainly on the litigation aspect of the firm’s cases. From the very beginning of a matter he is involved to prepare and plan every case as if it were going to trial. As a former teacher in Pearland ISD, Michael has the unique ability to communicate to a jury by laying out a case simply and sequentially.
In his free time, Michael can be found spending time with his family, working on DIY projects around the house, and coaching his kids’ soccer team. Michael has been married to his best friend for the past 20 years and they have 4 beautiful children together. There is never a dull moment in the James’ house—especially with the middle kids being twin boys!
