Lydia has been practicing law in Georgia since 1984. Her substantial resume includes being appointed the first female President at Mercer Law and Solicitor General of Georgia; working for Nathan Deal and Zell Miller; being appointed the Head of the Office of Children & Youth; being appointed and re-elected as District Attorney; and making partner at Stewart, Melvin & Frost before finally starting her own law firm. Lydia is also a founding member of the Edmondson Telford Child Advocacy Center, a trustee at Brenau University, and a pro-bono attorney for Rape Response.
