Ghizal Miri’s journey started as, one of the first exchange students from Afghanistan. As one of the first girls who was able to travel to the United States for her education, Ms. Miri believes that the key to success is freedom to educate. She believes in equality, and human rights for all genders, races and nationalities. Subsequently, Ms. Miri was offered a full scholarship through University of Houston for her unique intelligence and great candor. Ghizal Miri attended Texas Southern University’s Thurgood Marshall School of Law, and is licensed to practice in the State of Texas. As a veteran of the U.S. Army who holds top secret clearance, Ms. Miri brings a high level of commitment, discipline and passion to her legal practice. Ms. Miri is a certified translator, and after completing her service period with the Army, Ms. Miri enrolled in law school. While in law school, she interned at the U.S. Department of Justice Executive Office of Immigration Review in Houston, Texas, where she worked closely with the Attorney Advisor and the immigration judges. Ms. Miri has had extensive experience in immigration going back to her days as an undergraduate student at the University Houston where she graduated with Honors as a Political Science major. She worked at the University of Houston Language and Culture Center where she was exposed to foreign cultures. Ms. Miri’s vision and passion to help and elevate the natural human quality of kindness and oneness led to the formation of Miri & Associates, P.C. in 2018. As founding partner and attorney with Miri & Associates, she has had great success defending clients in criminal matters ranging from DWI, possession, to assault cases. Her confidence and military training are great assets that she brings with her to the courtroom. She manages and directs civil litigation cases. Ms. Miri is fluent in English, Farsi / Dari, Urdu / Hindi, and has basic knowledge of Arabic and Pushto languages. Ms. Miri is dedicated to her clients, and believes in relentlessly defending their rights.
