Earl Schurmer is the owner and managing partner of The Schurmer Firm and has over twenty years of litigation experience and is admitted to practice law in all of the State and Federal Courts in California.
Mr. Schurmer started his plaintiffs-side personal injury career in 1993 when he was hired as an associate attorney at the The Schurmer Firm. His extensive experience in handling the defense side of cases proved to be a valuable asset in handling all types of plaintiff cases. Since that time, Mr. Schurmer has handled virtually all types of personal injury and wrongful death actions from the initial client meeting to jury verdict with a vast number of seven-figure settlements, arbitration awards and jury verdicts.
Mr. Schurmer also has extensive experience in medical malpractice cases and has taken a particular interest in the medical aspect of all different matters. He has participated in numerous medical educational opportunities including a course taught by UCLA medical school instructors with extensive classroom training followed by hands-on cadaver examinations and dissections.
Prior to The Schurmer Firm, Mr. Schurmer began his professional career as an associate attorney for Gilbert, Kelly, Crowley, and Jennett. Gilbert Kelly was an insurance defense firm in Los Angeles that specializes in defending many types of personal injury and wrongful death actions. While at Gilbert Kelly he took and defended hundreds of depositions including plaintiffs, defendants, law enforcement personnel and all manner of medical, scientific and technical experts. Mr. Schurmer handled and defended cases from receipt of the initial claims filed through arbitration and trial and had substantial dealings with insurance company managers and adjusters relating to value determinations and resolution of claims.
