Courtney Abanaka is a persuasive and successful family law attorney who genuinely cares about her clients and her community. Being a native San Antonian, she is familiar with the culture and the people who make South Texas unique. Courtney’s professional philosophy is twofold: first, to treat everyone with dignity, respect, compassion, and empathy; second, to fight tirelessly for successful outcomes for her clients.

Courtney graduated from St. Mary’s Law School and has practiced law for over 10 years. She has proven her legal expertise while serving as a Bexar County Staff Attorney, Assistant Criminal District Attorney, and in other private practice law firms.

Courtney helps clients during some of the most difficult times of their lives so, she is willing to get into the trenches and tenaciously fight for her client’s rights. She is dedicated to providing exceptional customer service resulting in enthusiastic legal representation in a wide array of family law matters; including divorces, modifications, child custody, child support, enforcements and adoptions. Although her primary focus is on family law litigation, she has also successfully represented clients on the appellate level. In addition, Courtney is proficient in assisting clients with preparing estate planning documents.

As a trained mediator, Courtney is often able to negotiate mutually beneficial solutions for her clients which, routinely spares families the brutal and harsh realities of trial.

When Courtney is not in the courtroom she enjoys spending time with her friends and family, reading, cooking, traveling and mentoring and volunteering with youth in her community.
