A nationally recognized removal defense attorney and immigration litigator, Christopher Helt Esq. is the managing member of The Helt Law Group, LLC., focusing on the practice areas of deportation defense and federal immigration litigation.
A previous expert witness in federal jury trials focusing on immigration and asylum-related matters, Mr. Helt creates comprehensive solutions for his clients throughout six different Federal Circuit Courts of Appeals, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Armed Forces, and bar to the U.S. Supreme Court. Mr. Helt has served as the attorney of record in a number of published circuit court decisions and has represented thousands of individuals appearing before the nation’s immigration courts (Executive Office for Immigration Review “EOIR”), federal district courts, and the United States Supreme Court.
Mr. Helt’s critical representation skills have led to him being featured in the national media, including CNN News, CBS News, NBC News, Time Magazine, the New York Times, the Chicago Sun Times, and the Chicago Tribune. Mr. Helt provides representation to the underprivileged as pro bono general counsel and a board member of a non-profit organization that partners members of the Chicago FBI with local-area youths. The organization is comprised of volunteers who dedicate educational services, teaches leadership skills, and participates in mentoring and community outreach resources.
Mr. Helt has served as an adjunct faculty member at Loyola University of Chicago and has previously taught immigration policy to undergraduate and graduate students. He has been recognized as Martindale-Hubble AV-rated attorney and an Illinois Super Lawyer.
